One way is to upload your RAW DNA data to www.GEDmatch.com. \nGEDmatch.com is a website which allows users to share their DNA information with others to accelerate genealogical research and perform DNA match comparisons. \nThis presentation includes examples of GEDmatch usage and: \nHow to download your RAW DNA results and begin using GEDmatch.com \nThe benefits of GEDmatch \nCompare your autosomal DNA with other users from different testing sites \nIdentify potential relatives who have also uploaded their RAW DNA \nContact your DNA matches via email \nAid in adoptee searching for birth family \nTools available on the GEDmatch site include: \nSorting results by closest matches \nGenetic ‘distance’ of relative \nApproximate generation to a common ancestor \nTier 1 – $10 membership required to use \nSearch match segments with Triangulation \nA custom comparison system \nPhasing: if ONE parent has uploaded their RAW DNA to GEDmatch\, and a child has tested\, the second parent’s DNA matches can be extracted\, if the second parent is not available for testing. \nOpt-in Policy for law enforcement \nGEDmatch has been acquired by Verogen\, Inc.
