Denton Public Library’sLaura Douglas will share how and where to find unexpected treasureshidden in local history and genealogy collections\, both in your owncommunity and those where your ancestors lived. After thepresentation\, participants will hunt for their own genealogical treasuresin the DPL Special Collections research area. \n\n\n\nSocial time begins at 6:30pm with the program beginning at 7:00pm. \n\n\n\nhttp://genealogydentontexas.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Laura\n\n\n\nLaura Douglas leads the Special Collections area at the Denton PublicLibrary. She holds a bachelor of science degree in history from TexasWoman’s University and a master of library science degree from theUniversity of North Texas. Over her 33-year career at the library\, Laurahas served in the children’s services\, adult services\, genealogy\, and localhistory areas. She teaches genealogical research classes\, coordinatesgenealogy programming at the library\, and helps patrons search fortheir elusive ancestors.
