She is currently the secretary for the Texas State Genealogical Society\, a director-at-large for the Fort Worth Genealogical Society and a member of alogical societies in the DFW metroplex. Emily speaks professionally and teaches courses for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNT focusing on genealogy. She also serves as a mentor for the NGS course: American Genealogical Studies: Beyond the Basics and as a coordinator the ProGen49.
