She resolved not to let any more of them be forgotten and started collecting stories and family data from that day forward. \nHer interest in DNA dates back to high school biology where she was fascinated to realize it was her genes that caused her to  look so like her father and even have his blue eyes while her brother had their mother's brown eyes. Her father was 100% Norwegian American and her mother was born in Munich to a Jewish father and Bavarian mother\, an interesting DNA mixture. Kitty was able to test her dad\, both maternal aunts\, and her brother plus many cousins for an endlessly interesting family DNA project. \nKitty started programming computers in 1966 while still in high school and recently retired from her own small web development business. In her spare time she has created a number of tools for the genetic genealogy community for displaying pictures of whom their DNA is from\, showing overlapping segments\, grouping the DNA overlaps\, and converting ahnentafel lists to GEDcoms. \nShe has a cum laude degree from Harvard University and is also a World Champion Bridge player. Born and raised in New York City\,  she now lives in Lakeside\, California (East San Diego County) with her husband Steve and their dog Kyndra. They have over an acre and more than 20 fruit trees.
