DNA Special Interest Group

November 21, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The purpose of the DNA Interest Group is to explore the use of DNA as a genealogical tool. See the DNA Interest Group page for more information.

Topics: Autosomal DNA testing, MyHeritage Theory of Relativity, and 23andMe Family Tree (Beta).

The meeting will be a “redux” of Autosomal DNA results for family genetic searches.  We are calling it “redux,” a late 19th century term meaning brought back or revived, because we need to revisit how atDNA can assist our traditional genealogical research and help beginner to intermediate genetic testers to understand the process.  Autosomal DNA is the test used by all DNA testing companies. So invite your friends who haven’t tested or don’t understand how atDNA works to join you at the meeting.  We will also take overview of MyHeritage’s Theory of Relativity and 23andMe Family Tree.
Jim Thornhill will bring us up-to-date on the plans for the 2020 DNA Seminar.
