by Suzan Younger
School records from the past can be a challenge to find. However, if you have a student currently enrolled, the school’s website can provide a wealth of information about the student’s academic experience. Social media such as Facebook and Twitter may document the school’s activities and is available to the public. School activities often produce programs that may list students, teachers, and administrators by name. You have likely attended school functions for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the years. You may have school programs in a drawer or scrapbook. Take another look at the information in such a program through the eyes of a genealogist. Does the information place an individual(s) in a location, at a specific time and date, engaging in an activity?
