This began as a Google search looking for a website or app that shows the potential US conflicts a person may have been eligible to serve in by birth year. Google did not find anything so I decided to run an experiment. In that same chat I asked it to create a webpage that would perform this task.
I thought it would just say no since I was in a "search flow" but to my surprise and delight, it said OK and generated the first version of what you see below. It created this based on my search request - very quickly. I was impressed with the look and flow of the page. I wanted a few small tweaks:
- I wanted a more thorough list of US conflicts
- I wanted to have an option to only show those conflicts with potential eligibility
After two short conversations with it, I had a clean, helpful solution that was ready to use. It generated an HTML page, a CSS file and a JavaScript file. I needed a place to host these to get them live on the internet and it gave me several options. I chose an easy (and free option) that only took a few minutes to get up and running.
