This cemetery was surveyed by DGS volunteer researchers in April, 1992; additional listings, for graves not in evidence in 1992, are from Old Cemeteries of Dallas County, Texas, by Willie Flowers Carlisle. There are a number of unmarked graves in this cemetery. This updated database compilation includes data from death certificates, newspaper articles, and other sources as of July 2026.
Note: Bonnie PARKER (of Bonnie & Clyde fame: b. 1 Oct 1910, d. 23 May 1934), was originally buried at La Reunion Cemetery. Her remains were moved to Crown Hill Cemetery, Dallas, TX in 1945.
Burial place of French, Belgian and Swiss settlers brought here 1855-1858 by company for European-American colonization in Texas. This site was on road from La Reunion to Willow Fish traps set by the colonists in the Trinity. Early burials in this cemetery included aged French Grenadier Pere LACOCUE; also a young child of Colony director F. CANTAGREL. The company failed, but certain families remained, including the LOUPOTS, REMONDS, REVERCHONS and SANTERRES. They became business & cultural leaders in the Dallas Area and used this cemetery as late as 1939 for family burials
