Dallas undertook two major street-address renumberings:
- 1891 – 1892: An early attempt to bring order to the city’s inconsistent addresses.
- 1911: A comprehensive citywide renumbering that established the system underlying many modern Dallas addresses. The new numbers took effect around January 1911.
An online index is a transcription/navigation aid of 1911 Worley’s Dallas City Street Directory functions as a street-renumbering table: for each street, it places the new number beside the old number. It can be viewed on Jim Wheat’s website at https://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~jwheat/worleys1911streets/worleys1911streets.html
