Annual Family Month Celebration 2022

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 21, 2022! The Dallas Public Library and Dallas Genealogical Society are pleased to bring back our annual in-person Family History Month Celebration on the 8th floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. Join us for all day live streamed programs brought to you by the Genealogy Network of Texas – a state-wide initiative to connect libraries/genealogical societies and provide educational and research opportunities. Volunteers and library staff will provide free research and DNA help as well as tours of our top ten genealogy collection and our state-of-art Heritage Lab, available for family history digitization. Parking is free in our underground parking garage on Wood Street, and event attendees will be able to enter the building prior to 10 a.m. to get seated.

- 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Choosing Genealogy Services & Software – Tony Hanson, Family Historian
- 2:40 – 3:30 p.m. – Citing Sources Without Stressing Out – Amy Johnson Crow, MLS, founder and lead educator at Generations Connection, host of Generations Café podcast
- 3:40 – 4:55 p.m. – How to Approach and Solve Brick Wall Problems with DNA – Sara Allen, Senior Librarian, Allen County Public Library, Genealogy Center
- 5 – 5:50 p.m. – United States Migration Patterns: Why They Left, Where They Went, and the Stories They Left Behind – LeAnne McCamey, professional genealogist, publisher, author, and owner of American Genealogical Research Services
