Death certificates or registers aren’t always available. We’ll explore other records that can provide details about our ancestors’ passing.

 

Dorina Alaniz Thomas, PhD is a retired educator whose interest in genealogy began in 1996 while researching her family’s medical history. She published two books: Ranch Cemeteries of South Texas, Brooks County and Researching Hispanic Family Records.

Dr Thomas has been a presenter in several of the annual Texas Hispanic genealogical and historical conferences as well as in public libraries throughout Texas.
