Discover one of the most powerful—and often overlooked—tools in modern genealogy research. FamilySearch’s Full-Text Search uses advanced AI technology to search the handwritten text within millions of digitized historical records, helping researchers uncover names, places and stories that traditional indexes may have missed.

In the first hour, attendees joining either online or in person will learn how Full-Text Search works, when to use it, and strategies for finding elusive ancestors. The second part of the program at 3 p.m. will be an in-person guided lab on the 8th floor of the Central Library where participants can explore the expanded collection of approximately 400 million additional digitized images available through FamilySearch Affiliate Library access at the Dallas Public Library genealogy computers.

This Genealogy & History program is available BOTH in-person at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 8th floor & Preston Royal Branch Library AND online via Zoom.
