Topic Discussion: Jim’s Journey: A documented history of Daniel Quarles association with Samuel Clemons. Larry has participated as a guest speaker on Culture and Communications of African Americans at University of Texas at Dallas. McCarty participated in an ongoing Archaeological Dig at ‘The Farm’ of John A. Quarles’ homestead in Florida Missouri.
Larry was the inaugural speaker at the Huck Finn Freedom Center and Museum in Samuel Clemens’s hometown of Hannibal Missouri. Larry has been a guest speaker on Cable TV during Black History Month, presented at multiple local library events, genealogy societies across the State of Texas. The Hannibal Courier-Post, Hannibal, Missouri, and the Illinois Quincy Herald-Wig, The Lake Gazette of Monroe, Missouri, and the Irving Rambler – Irving, Texas have chronicled his engagements.
You will note that the August 4, 2022, Grand Prairie GS meeting will be in person as well as virtual.
If you are planning to attend the meeting, it will be in the Inspire Room at the Grand Prairie Memorial Library, 901 Conover, Grand Prairie, TX.
