Land Records: Using County Central Appraisal District Websites & County Clerk Websites.  County central appraisal district websites offer a wealth of information about real property.  Most counties in the United States have a central appraisal district (CAD) for all towns and cities in the county which provides ownership and county tax and property valuation information.  County Clerk office websites are not standardized in the same way as the CAD websites and content differs from county to county.  The September  SIG presentation will provide an overview of how to use central appraisal district websites and a demonstration of the Dallas County Clerk’s Office ROAM website with access to digital copies of real property records through a paid subscription or per document cost.
