Join the Van Zandt Genealogical Society and Emily Richardson for a day of learning an fun! Emily is a professional instructor and lifelong genealogist. She grew up with a mother who was a professional genealogist that never used a computer but introduced her to the importance of original documents and necessary footwork (visiting cemeteries and other research places) in the pursuit of family ancestors.

About Emily
Emily retired from 30 years in higher education to follow her passion for genealogy by operating Kinsearchers, a family research firm dedicated to helping others find their ancestors and preserve their photos, documents, and memorabilia. She is currently the secretary for the Texas State Genealogical Society, a director-at-large for the Fort Worth Genealogical Society and a member of alogical societies in the DFW metroplex. Emily speaks professionally and teaches courses for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNT focusing on genealogy. She also serves as a mentor for the NGS course: American Genealogical Studies: Beyond the Basics and as a coordinator the ProGen49.
