We will be electing the 2015 - 2016 Board of Directors at this meeting -Please Attend and Vote. We will be giving away a free seat for our Fall Seminar with Dr. Michael Lacopo to one lucky attendee. Our featured speaker this month is Debra Polsky, Executive Director of the Dallas Jewish Historical Society.
Today is the last day to submit nominations for their annual Volunteer of the Year, Writing and Website awards.
This organizational meeting of the DNA Interest Group will provide a brief overview of the types of DNA testing, the companies providing the tests, and a recognition of the existence of genetic genealogy standards. More importantly, we would like to discuss the needs and interests of the attendees for future programming about DNA for genealogy.
Join us starting at 10:30 for hospitality and mingling. The business meeting starts at 11:00, followed by our featured speaker around 11:30. This month we will be hearing from Rusty Brenner from Texas Cemetery Restorations who will be talking to us about Cleaning, leveling, and repair of tombstones, GPS Mapping and Burial Databases for Cemeteries and Ground Penetrating Radar to locate unmarked graves.
We are very excited to be welcoming Dr. Michael Lacopo who will be presenting a one-day series of lectures titled 'Thinking, Assessing, & Storytelling: Genealogy Beyond Birth, Marriage & Death'.

Our presentation this month will be "The Presidential Libraries and the George W. Bush Presidential Center" made by Alan C. Lowe, Director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Learn the terminology of the Jewish faith and race, and the methods for researching these families.
The program Topic is X Chromosome. The group will look at Fan Charts, Pedigree Charts and Ahnentafel Reports (some times called Ancestor Reports) to assist in finding which of your lines could have X matches.
The Brown Bag group will be discussing numbering systems for genealogical reports.
