Exploring ConferenceKeeper.org

It’s a no brainer that you will put the DGS annual seminars in your genealogy educational event calendar first; but how do you find out about other worthwhile conferences you would like to attend? I recently checked out Jen Baldwin’s site ConferenceKeeper.org. I was impressed by the number of listings, as well as how well organized this site is. I found it easy to use.

You can search for a conference or genealogical society monthly meeting by location, both international or U.S., by a traditional calendar that lists everything in one place, or by conferences only. It was a quick task entering DGS upcoming events into their calendar.

There are also tabs for virtual conferences, cruises, and tours geared towards genealogists, as well as calls for papers for future conferences.

I was surprised to see there was a section for genealogy contests and a handy guide to grants and scholarships available to family researchers.

I was amazed to see the number and variety of volunteer opportunities to assist in genealogy research that were listed.

I was happy to learn they offer a free, weekly updates email. Since they made a point of mentioning, “We promise not to bombard you with unnecessary emails,” and that they don’t sell their email lists, I felt safe to subscribe. I look forward to receiving my first edition.

I was glad I checked out ConferenceKeeper.org, and I bet you will be too. Visit the website and see for yourself.
