Food Bank Information

High Demand Items

Food banks need high-shelf-life items that won’t expire quickly. Items that are most needed include:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Fruit
    • 14-16 oz, Pop tops preferred, consider a variedly of fruits.
  • Unflavored shelf-stable milk (that can be safely stored at room temperatures) in sealed containers.
    • 8 oz, Whole milk, Lowfat, 1% of 2%. No Flavored milk (such as chocolate, vanilla, etc.)
  • Canned Tuna or Chicken
    • 5 oz
  • Low-sodium canned vegetables
    • 14 – 16 oz, consider a variety of vegetables. Sliced/chunks/halved & whole pieces are acceptable.
  • Trail Mix
    • Bags must be between 1 – 2 oz
  • Dry stuffing mix and holiday-themed food will be in high demand soon

Please – No Glass containers!

How To Donate

1. Bring items to our General Meeting on Saturday November 1

We will transport all donations to the North Texas Food Bank. Please see our event web page for details.

2. North Texas Food Bank

  • Food donations can be dropped off at the Perot Family Campus (3677 Mapleshade Lane in Plano) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday – Saturday.
  • You can purchase items for the North Texas Food Bank online at their Amazon.com wish list.
  • You can make a cash donation on their website at https://www.ntfb.org/.
  • North Texas Food Bank needs volunteers to help pack, box and distribute food. Shifts start at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Tuesday – Thursday and Saturday. For more information please contact them via their website at https://www.ntfb.org/.
