From the President: Our Portal Partnership

Our society recently reached a significant milestone on the Portal to Texas History when views of our publications passed the one million mark. This is a remarkable achievement: 516 partners have images on the Portal, but the Dallas Genealogical Society is only the 31st partner to reach this milestone. DGS currently ranks 24th (1,146,320) in total images viewed.

The Dallas Journals published between 1998 and 2010 are the most popular publications, with views ranging from 4,948 (2005 the issue) to 9,442 (2002 the issue). One newsletter (March 1998) was in the top 10 as well.

Dreanna Beldon, Assistant Dean for External Relations, University of North Texas Libraries Digital Libraries presented the society with certificate commemorating the achievement at the November 7 2024General Meeting.
