Upcoming programs at the Dallas Public Library

While Dallas Public Library staff is eager to get back to “normal times,” we are excited to continue our bi-weekly online genealogy programs into Fall 2021. Our online programs have been a resounding success and have reached family history researchers not only throughout North Texas, but all over the United States. We’ve even had a researcher join our online programs from as far away as South Korea!

Here are details about our upcoming online programs every other Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (CDT, y’all.) Don’t forget to register for each event using the links below:

  • Tuesday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. – Genealogy Research at the Dallas Public Library – Hear the latest updates from the Dallas Public Library and learn how to make an appointment to research in the collection.
  • Tuesday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. – Plotting (Historic) Death in Dallas – UTA Special Collections Archivist Pricilla Escobedo will demonstrate her interactive mapping project, the Dallas Death Map.
  • Tuesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. – Get Started with your Genealogy – How to start your family history from the very beginning from DPL’s genealogy experts.

And our most exciting news, on October 15th along with our co-sponsor, the Dallas Genealogical Society, we will be bringing you the Genealogy Network of Texas’s annual Family History Month Celebration. Seven FREE, featured programs from renowned genealogy speakers like Judy Russell, Blaine Bettinger, Curt Witcher.
