A short history of the C. P. Schulze Home, which houses the Irving Heritage Society
Towns proliferated wherever railroad tracks were laid in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and Irving, Texas was no exception. Julius Otto (“J.O.”) Schulze and Otis Brown, who were members of a crew surveying proposed rail lines in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas for the Rock Island Railroad, resigned their employment in late 1902 to plot out a small town on 80 acres between Dallas and Fort Worth.
