Laura Larsdatter (Tony Hanson’s great grandmother) was born in Eidsvoll, Akershus, Norway in 1844. A fire in the Eidsvoll church destroyed the vast majority of the Birth, Marriage and Death records created before 1877, creating a significant genealogical brick wall.

In this presentation Tony will reveal how DNA matches and other resources were used to reveal the identity of her birth family and several preceding generations.

Our special guest speaker is Michelle Dwyer Cohen whose topic is “Finding My Daughter’s Biological Grandparents.”  She will discuss how the combined use of traditional research and DNA analysis produced results after many years of searching.  We will not be recording the meeting due to the personal nature of the subject.  So please join us on Thursday.
